Google for Education
To support Virtual Learning, Haydon School uses the Google Suite for Education to provide a wide range of free to use tools for students and staff. We strongly believe that these tools offer educational, organisational and cost saving benefits for our whole community.
Tools which your child may use at Haydon School include:
- Google Drive – an unlimited online storage area, which can be accessed from any online device e.g. phone, tablet, laptop etc.
- Google Docs, Sheets and Slides – Google’s free to use on-line version of a word processor, a spreadsheet and presentation software. These tools offer powerful collaboration possibilities and can be accessed and edited from any online device.
- Google Classroom – an online virtual classroom where teachers can share a wide range of resources with students and allow a community to grow around high quality learning.
- Google Forms – a flexible and powerful tool, which can be used to create online surveys or interactive worksheets.
How to access these tools?
All students and staff automatically get a school Google Suite account with the relevant login details.
To access their school Google account, students should go to: https://www.google.com/
Click on ‘Sign in’ at the top right-hand corner of the screen.
Firstly, students will need their Google email address. This is the first half of their LGFL school email login details e.g. trobson002.312 with @haydonschool.com added. For example: trobson002.312@haydonschool.com.
The password then requested is the same as the password for their school email account.
If a student has forgotten their school email login details, they should go to the Network Office (first floor of the Dobson building) to get this re-issued.
