Yr 9 Volunteering
A few of our Year 9 students have been Volunteering to help create essential hygiene packs to local hospitals.
We would like to commend a few of our Year 9 students who as part of their Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award have been volunteering with a voluntary group called “patient care packs” who create and deliver essential hygiene packs to local hospitals.
One of the organisers of the voluntary group has said “The students have been truly amazing!! They have all gone above and beyond expectations for their DofE requirements.
I can’t express how grateful I am for all their hard work”
Scarlett B in 9CDG has fundraised nearly £2000 for the course and has been dedicated in making up packs within short notice, she was making up to 100 packs a week with short notice. Eleanor S in 9GMM has also helped to make packs and has also been making ‘Get Better Soon’ notes to go into each pack.
One of the parents of the students have said: “This has been a real eye opener and has taught them a lot about the needs of others in our community.”
It is great to see our Year 9 students embodying our school values of community, kindness and perseverance through this amazing voluntary work.
