Assessment and Reporting
The progress of students at Haydon School is monitored through a variety of assessment methods. These include formal tests and exams, informal tests, teacher assessment, peer- and self- assessment. There are three key assessment points each year for each year group, when data is recorded centrally on your child's progress to date, and this is communicated to you via his/her report. Regular assessment enables us to measure your child's progress towards his/her expected outcomes, and to put intervention in place where required.
We will provide you with the following assessment information in each academic year:
- Reports showing your child’s progress and effort in each subject. A guide explaining the progress measures contained within your child’s report can be obtained by clicking on the link below. Also within the report is a summary of attendance. We firmly believe that good attendance is vital if your child is to achieve his/her full potential. The school has set a target rate of 96% attendance for each child. The report also includes details of behaviour and reward points accrued. Year 7 and 8 reports will include an indication of your child's current reading age.
- Curriculum Evenings at which assessment measures are explained.
- A Parents’ Consultation Evening where you can meet the subject and pastoral staff.
Student reports are now only available on SIMS Parent App
